Why?

I can remember early in my career, one of the things that motivated me was a team effort. I liked seeing how my results made a difference for our team and clients. I liked being close to the action.

I have been at HORNE for 30 years, and I have had a sense of belonging that has grown stronger with time. I have been rewarded for my growth and proactive leadership on teams. Only later in my career did I also realize how much self-satisfaction I get when I help others reach their full potential, or do things that they did not have the confidence to do.As an organization, we all have a mission. As an individual leader, we should have a mission too. If you haven’t taken time to think about your personal “WHY?” I encourage you to do so. It has helped me so many times when I was having a bad day, or just struggling with a new problem. It is easy to get discouraged or overwhelmed, but it’s awesome to be connected to a team that has clear values and vision to rely on during these times. My “WHY?” helps me make that connection.

Why do you serve? Why do you make personal sacrifices for your team and clients? Why are you loyal to your team? Why do you feel so connected? Why do you go above and beyond expectations for our clients and team members?
