2016 Mississippi Bankers Association Conference Recap

Written by The HORNE Banking Team | May 16, 2016

From May 11-15, 2016, more than 600 bank industry professionals participated in the 128th annual Mississippi Bankers Association Convention. Held in beautiful Sandestin Florida, this conference offered participants time for professional, social, family, and leisure.

The HORNE team was fortunate to spend three days enjoying being a part of this incredible event. During that time, a couple of things were apparent. Of them, the one that stands out most is that Mississippi bankers epitomize the meaning of community bankers. The camaraderie was unbelievable and infectious. Our state is fortunate to have such a large group people who truly care about banking and about the communities they serve.

We also addressed the fact that the banking industry continues to face a lot of challenges. Event speakers covered topics of leadership, the generational gap, the political landscape and the overall banking landscape. In the course of those discussions, it was apparent that Mississippi bankers are well equipped to handle those challenges.

A special thank you to the Mississippi Bankers Association and to the participating bankers for welcoming HORNE. We appreciate the chance to be involved and we look forward to building great relationships and to doing our part to strengthen the banking industry for many years to come.
